Scholarships and Prizes

We believe in supporting the engineers of the future, and do this through a range of academic prizes and a scholarship for students within the engineering departments of both Auckland and Canterbury Universities. In recognising the value of supporting young engineers, we offer monetary prizes for the top students within traffic engineering papers, as well as a study scholarship to assist the best students with their ongoing studies in traffic and transportation engineering.
At the University of Canterbury, the annual Traffic Design Group (TDG) prize (carrying a value of $1,000) goes to the student displaying the most outstanding work in the Transportation and Traffic Engineering papers in their final year. Over recent years several recipients of this prize have subsequently joined the firm.
A prize and a study scholarship are awarded by TDG at the University of Auckland. In the fourth year of studies the top under-graduate student in the Traffic Systems Design course is awarded a prize of $1,000. The annual TDG Scholarship is awarded to an under-graduate student entering their final year and electing the relevant transportation engineering papers. This significant prize carries a value of $7,500.
